Do People Respect Stoners?

“Ohh you smoke weed, right I see… no that’s fine”, she said as she grinned awkwardly.

First you have to ask by whom, are the stoners being respected or disrespected by.  So lets break this down:

Fellow Stoners

What a great place to start, and well inevitably these people always will love you for you understand them and they understand you!! That moment a fellow weed smokers indentifies a fellow smoker there’s a kind of “we should have a spliff to celebrate this moment” that unofficially happens.  The commonalities of weed smokers means that you’ll always get on with each other and thus the mutual respect is always there!!

RESPECT LEVEL OUT OF 10 = 10

Alcoholics

Assuming they’re non-weed smokers, they wont see the big attraction to it all.  Of course they had a joint passed to them at some point at party somewhere but for whatever reason it did nothing to them.  Not like drinking 10 pints!! They don’t see the big deal, or really understand how a person could truly be addicted to smoking the weed.  Do they respect you? Yes & No… but swiftly reminded that they have the same problem involving a substance of their own they pipe down start being more respectful.

RESPECT LEVEL OUT OF 10 = 4

A Class Drug users : TYPE CRACK WHORE!

To them you’re the at the bottom of the drug tree!!! effectively it’s more or less smoking a cigarette in their eyes, for you haven’t tried smack, cocaine or heroine yet! Do they respect you, probably more so than the alcoholic for they once were where you are starting with weed, and will have stronger commonality to you.  However weed not really being a drug to these guys, cos they’re crack whores and desperate as FUCK to get anything into their system, it doesn’t really matter.  You can easily sit down and consume any drug on the table!

RESPECT LEVEL OUT OF 10 = 8

A Class Drug users : TYPE INVESTMENT BANKER

Remember this individual has lots and lots of money & his eighth cost him £400 just for the evening, now on reflection with your measly £20 spent for the equivalent weight the judging begins there.  Do they respect you? Did you really need to ask? This type of individual wouldn’t respect you even if you didn’t smoke weed, and the fact that you do make you dirty, a lesser human! Lets not stereotype investment bankers, as I’m sure MANY of them smoke weed however the reputation lives strong among this trade for being a coke driven industry.

RESPECT LEVEL OUT OF 10 = 2

Cigarette Smokers

Ironically addicts both from the smoking hierarchy family tree you’d assume that the respect would be in amplitude! Think again…. Cigarette smokers will try their hardest to disassociate themselves from their weed smoking counterparts as just to avoid the stigma attached to potheads.  Secretly however many cigarette smokers given the opportunity have indulged themselves in smoking a FAT DUBEE, but only later reveal this only when the time right!  As for the respect, FORGET IT! Their efforts to distance themselves from the STONER REPUTATION means they’ll speak ill of you even at your funeral!

RESPECT LEVEL OUT OF 10 = 3

Everybody Else.

Lets be honest many people have weed smoking as their guilty secret.  It’s not secret the stigma and reputation that is associated to smoking weed! This is again evident when you look at Holland’s effort to ban the drug.  The evidence collected over the last 30 years suggests that the dutch authorities have controlled the illegal market of growing weed and have a fantastic system for regulating it, keep it clean and green! Stats also show the only 15% of their population are regular weed smokers, and subsequently not high enough to be a concern. Amsterdam alone brings in 400 Million Euros a year in profit revenues for the sale of weed. SO WHAT’S THE PROBLEM?? Why are they trying to ban it from their country after all this time? A great question…. one that doesn’t have an official answer, or not one that makes sense anyway.  The real speculation surrounds the political and diplomatic relations Holland has with it’s neighbours and …. drum roll…… THE STIGMA (Ridicule) TO RELAXED WEED POLICIES IN THE COUNTRY.  So in other words, the Dutch don’t feel like people are taking them seriously as a nation due to them being the only country selling weed so openly to everybody.  There you have it, spoken from the horses mouth… for some reason which i’ll have to examine for real reasons later Weed smoking is just heavily looked down upon and the efforts of Harold and Kumar and the likes to, lift the sinking reputation isn’t really effective.

Have Your Drug Debts Got Out Of Control?

Have you been buying drugs on a tick / credit? But got no money to pay the debt back? & When money comes in you buy more drugs rather that payback the debt? Have you been become soo desperate that you’re skanking weed of your friends, going in halves with them when buying and hoping that they forget that you owe them? or even worse when the times comes to paying back they outright deny the debt.  If this is you or somebody you know … YOU or  SOMEBODY YOU KNOW needs to quit immediately or at least take a break to sort your head out and your finances out.  Ultimately being broke, and a druggie just isn’t a good combination and it’s doomed somewhere along the line to fuck up royally with your smoking pals mass revolting or just avoid you because you don’t pay your way.  We all know people that have suffered from this problem of the drugs warping their realities to somehow making it feasible to dodge paying people back.  Drugs and money work fine just as long as you’re not on the drugs, but that’s the problem as soon as you become a heavy user you’re bound to fuck it up sooner or later.

Weed Credit Card as common as Store Cards

It’s a common thing for people nowadays to have credit when buying weed from their trusted dealers.  For back in the day of weed scarecity getting hold on some would be tough so you’d try and appese the dealer best you could, for he controlled the magic!! However in this day and age, there seems to be more dealers than the weed itself.  Being a dealer is a saturated cut throat market, where being even a gram off from what was promised will result in that dealer not getting any repeat business FOR EVER!! So dealers going that extra mile to do business OFFER CREDIT and some DELIVER to your door!!

Lost many a friend over this?

As smoking a spliff can acquaint even the two most unlikely people, the lack of payment aspect of the weed has the ability to ruin any friendship given its day.  Somebody I know took the piss so badly that he owed his mate hundreds of pounds of unpaid weed debts to the point where it got so bad he then started dodging the dude just because of this debt!! which brings us perfectly onto the next section:

Payment Dodging Tactics!

TACTIC NUMBER 1:  The individual tries everything under the sun to avoid paying for their share by primarily leaving it long as they can in hope that by then you’d have forgotten what was owed.

TACTIC NUMBER 2: They ensure you have money to pay for half the stash when they go to pick up the stash and if you don’t chase you up for it the next day & so on!!!  However when you’re going to pick from the dealer don’t expect any money from them, EVER!!

TACTIC NUMBER 3:  When you ask for your money back they pretend like they didn’t hear you, as to create as much a socially ackward situation as possible.

TACTIC NUMBER 4: When you ask for your money back they claim that they got the weed in the other day for the season round their house! This can be true of course, but sometimes it could well be that you just smoked a spliff with them and this somehow constitutes in their head being equal to the £10 share they owe you???

Clear debts or buy more weed?

So you’ve got £10 in your hand, do you pay your buddy back for the crazy session you had the other day?? or do you buy some mooooooo shit for tonight?? This is a very common stumbling block for the broke unemployed stoner!  constantly being high all the time, means that you’re gonna most likely be pretty bad with handling money (especially more so if you’re a junkie!) but if some situations you’re already bad with handling money on top of the side effects of the weed smoking well that’s pretty much green lights indicating it’s time to quit weed – cos yo FUCKED and steadily digging a massive whole for yourself ultimately for you to lie in.  In the end you can dodge as much you like but your friends will soon cease to want to smoke with you until you start paying your way again.  Think of it this way many the situations where the friends wont be loaded with money either, and what this individual lacks to realise that he’s stealing from the poor.

The countdown will begin again soon

Yeap that’s right people I openly confess to you all now, that this whole “AFTER BEING AN ADDICT, IS IT POSSIBLE TO GO BACK TO BEING A CASUAL SMOKER? ” was a big mistake to try it that so soon. To think 50 days was enough is now seeming really a bad idea & stupid, and I say this cos the fucking cravings are back!  I feel like I’ve regressed and I am now back to exactly where I began …. “ALRIGHT ALRIGHT WE GET IT!”, don’t worry I’m gonna repeat the last post but I feel that this point has to be stressed a bit further cos it’s bloody important.  I wont make this mistake again.

THE IDEA WAS GOOD, HOWEVER THE EXECUTION WAS FLAWED

REGARDLESS of everything the initial idea was a good one i.e. being able to moderate when I smoke! It all seemed to make sense, and fit perfectly into place for when I didn’t smoke for a long time, I enjoyed it sooo much more! So where did I go wrong? As I soon to enter the 2nd non-smoking phase this is best time to reflect what the fuck happened? Ok lets recap 1) I got high after a 50 day break 2) & i just went back to smoking weed regularly again?!? 3) I then got high pretty much the whole of that week, i.e. totally defeating the purpose of everything. The whole reason why I’m so pissed off with myself, cos as stupid as this sounds, i REALLY THOUGHT COULD DO It easier than that!…. anyway we all learn from our mistakes, so fine i’m back to the drawing board, but many questions are left unanswered.  I guess.. I’ll be trying this again in the near distant future but this time when I do try it again, i’ll just have to really really have the 2nd day after the session under control.  i.e. I’ll make sure that this fuck up doesn’t happen again.   For I’m determined it’s possible!!! It’s got to be possible! Sure i have an addictive personality, but then really when you dig beneath the surface that’s just another way of saying undisciplined.   Life is full of lots of great and wonderful things, but doing them continuously back to back is boring.  I.e this problem ultimately is all mental and IN YO HEAD!! When one believes they are disciplined that person can achieve anything…  I guess I’ll talk about this again later on, but for the time being I got cravings that need to be ignored.  THAT FUCKING CAT CAN SIMPLY FUCK OFF!

DAY 1 – HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I SAID THIS WILL BE MY LAST BAG OF WEED?

…..my life once upon a time was good, it really was! I didn’t need substances to keep me happy or going, for I was content……. but then that day i’ll never forget I smoked some weed and got really stoned. YEAP I GOT FUCKED!!I remember it seemed pretty harmless at the time, why would it not? This was my first experience of the drug and it really blew my mind! IT WAS THE SHIT, I FUCKING LOVED IT, had I found pure escapism? We

as humans travel the worlds to enrich our minds with deep experiences but ultimately isn’t it all just chemistry & electricity inside our brains! Hence I ask what’s the difference between finding pure harmony onlooking a beautiful waterfall or taking a few toaks from a spliff passed to you by your buddy on a gloomy afternoon on quiet street corner? Quite simply, one of them would wow your friends & family on Facebook while the other option tends to lead to introvertedness and ultimately walk the plank or path of slow death.  Too extreme? Now at this point I must make a distinction and clarify that I don’t believe that smoking weed is a problem, it’s the fucking addiction part that’s the problem!

Now back then I wasn’t a junkie or addict but had I found pure escapism? Yes I had, but at what unknown cost had I found it.  Now I hate to take it back to first principles, after all what’s the need to step into the Delorean accelerate to 88 MPH to go back in time, are the answers really there? By going back there will I learn anything useful that would help me quit this addiction bringing myself in line with everyone else? Maybe…. we’ll see…

I notice something very interesting as I write this blog! …. notice all the open unanswered questions? Hmmmm I think there you have proof i really do need to get a grip of this, cos i’m not really sure what’s going on because i’ve been smoking so much of this green shit it’s starting to fuck with my head.  As for why I’m writing about it I think that it’s time I really looked into what’s been going on behind the scenes of my drug addiction.

I’ve titled this blog “HOWIQUIT.COM” but in truth I’m not sure where this is gonna go.  I aim to study this topic in detail and log my thoughts as they unravel this self created mystery of mine.  So  maybe some answers are in the past maybe even in the post but for certain it lies here in the now and 100% all in my mind whatever time frame.

“It is commonly said that marijuana isn’t physically addictive but mentally addictive…”

I couldn’t agree with this any more.  So I smoke weed pretty much all the fucking time, if it’s mentally addictive say like a bad habbit i should be able to kick the habit with my mind…That said, easier said than done :S
