Don’t blame it on the sunshine…Moonlight.. Good Times or the WEED

Your relationship is falling apart, your finances are completely out of control with 2 to 3 guys knocking on your door daily cos you owe some mafia guy some money, you’ve put on 20 pounds, and your mobile phone just got cut off cos you didn’t pay the bill.

“…man, my life is shit cos I smoke too much WEED…”

person pointing I can be really nice about this or save you the time and just be honest.  Ok I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but your life is shit because you’re shit, and you smoke weed to try forget about how shit your life is.  We’ve all been there and hearing/reading this isn’t really much of a revelation cos you probably knew that was true anyway.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ve many times on HowquitIweed.com talked about how smoking TOO much Ganj can fuck you up, but combined with OVER usage, where you’re practically using it to forget all your woes and problems is where alarms should be going off.

Weed lets you dream with ease, but not accomplish so.

…while on weed I philosophise and analyse life! It’s power of introversion actually helps you create that bubble on concentration.  However be warned not to stay in that bubble all year long…

A saying which has been passed down the generations which I thoroughly agree with.  What it’s saying is while being high, in that state of mind where you’re alone thinking about your life you can find the answers to your problems and really dream about what the future could be like and in that future your life is fantastic, you’ve got lots of money, lots of success with the opposite sex, a great car , house and everything you can see you can possibly want.  However while being high you’re only just gonna see those things in your head like in a dream state.  Now getting high the next day is only gonna keep you seeing that dream and more or less if you keep doing this, it’ll just stay a dream.  In reality, once you’re back to reality i.e sober that’s really when you should be trying to push down the boundaries that exist between you and that dream.  It’s the time when you work hard, and you get things done that you can look back on at the end of the day / week etc. and be proud of the hard work you put in.

I work great when I’m high…..

This topic usually gets people heated, very defensive about their lifestyles but there is no fixed rule of thumb as there are so many people in this world, everybody being different, I’ve no doubt this is true for many, and I have friends who smoke weed everyday and get things done. However in general for most people this SADLY isn’t true.  I get people emailing me all the time saying that they “wanna be doing shit while high” cos they see other people doing it.  The story always goes the same way i.e. by trying this they fuck up.  I believed this shit once when doing my undergrad dissertation, I wrote so much of that high of my face. Sure I didn’t fail, but had I not been stupid I would have done soo much better in the end.  Ok I’ll be really straight about this, how do we even know those people who claim to be “ONTOP OF THEIR daily SHIT, while super HIGH!!” ain’t talking bullshit! It could easily just be their self defence mechanism just kicking in, who knows??? Saying that, in the article does weed effect you after you been smoking we looked at a very similar topic and took a more scientific approach.

Don’t hate on WEED – I’m a creative, weed always helps me!!

Sure getting high always can make you creative, and you’ll get ideas upon idea however smoking weed might not STOP YOU, completely but if you’re really damn HIGH it certainly isn’t gonna make what you’re doing much easier.  I’ve been making music for years, and yeah getting high does help in some ways, but when it comes to actually moving and doing shit, I can’t be fucked. I wanna sit around, and chill.  Now I can force myself to get up and do shit, but by forcing myself I’m clearly admitting that I’m going against my natural drive to not want to do something, i.e. getting stuff done is going to be impeded.  Lets be honest, smoking a bit here and there isn’t harmful and really can relax you to where you can pull out all sorts of creativity.. question, is it really the weed that’s doing all the creating? probably not, but if the process helps, don’t hate. Many rappers, and big music producer are anti smoking while working as it doesn’t help them as it leaves them feeling dead..”SMOKEEE SOME SATIVA!!” you say, despite agreeing with you that INDICAs and SATIVA should be looked at individually it’s not practical to really break down weed into 2 further categories as that doesn’t help us get our answer but more throwout more questions. Also be honest it’s not practical as Weed isn’t legal, and for that reason the chances of your dealer being able to give you an Amsterdam style weed menu is pretty unrealistic and generally doesn’t describe the general situation.

 Conclusion

moonlightIt happens to a lot of people that they smoke way too much weed, and they start getting sloppy i.e. going into work late, not caring how they look, letting themselves go as they go nuts on the munchies.  I’m generalising here, but the truth is people loss job, girlfriends, and colleagues all the time cos of drugs and how they change people.  Now it might seem like the obvious advice to tell somebody, “yo quit smoking so much, you’re life will get better.” This may be true and quite possibly may work, but sometimes it don’t cos there are many underlying reasons why people smoke weed in the first place.  Blaming weed for all your troubles, isn’t actually that productive cos you’re potentially letting yourself miss the true, real reasons why you keep going back to smoking.  As crazy as it may seem it’s much more healthier to blame life and circumstances in your life rather than blame the drug outright, cos that isn’t gonna get you anywhere, and closer to solving your problems.  With all that said, of course nobody is giving Weed a get out of jail card, by any means but the moral here is to look deeper than the joint you got rolled up and about to smoke.

  1. I love what you’re saying here bud. I’m kinda going through this now, and I really appreciate the courage that you’ve got to write about these things. Reading other people dealing with these problems makes it a lot easier to deal with. I think your harsh no-nonsense approach to denial is the perfect method for dealing it, else you’ll end up like I was being stuck in the rutt for too long. I love your blog man, keep it up dude.
